The Maine Indian Tribal State Commission (MITSC) and Wabanaki Public Health & Wellness (WPHW) are partnering to create a training for State of Maine government employees related to Wabanaki culture, history, and people. The Maine Tribal-State Collaboration Act requires this training to improve government-to-government relations, communication, and collaboration between state agencies and the Wabanaki tribal nations.
Our goal is to create a training that is engaging, informative, and useful to those working within state government. As part of the development process, we are conducting surveys of state employees and tribal citizens to help focus the curriculum. The more people we have providing feedback, the more relevant the training will be for all who attend. Please take the survey and help us create the best training possible to assist state government employees to work more effectively with Wabanaki people.
