Task Force on Changes to the Maine Indian Claims Settlement Implementing Act

In 2019 a Tribal-State Task Force was created to consider major changes to the unusual jurisdictional structure created by the Settlement. In early 2020 theTask Force submitted its report, including 22 Recommendations. In 2020 and subsequent years various legislative bills were drafted in sustained efforts to implement the recommendations of the Task Force.
